Last year, Kawaii Monster Cafe held a pop-up in Harajuku, with the monster girls, special monster food, and merchandise. You can check out my blog all about it here! This year, they held a mini pop-up booth along Takeshita Street and were advertising their party event, held on Sept. 12th!
The pop up booth was held from September 5th to 11th, so thankfully, I arrived just in time to see it on the last day it was open!
The booth featured some NEW ITEMS, including some SUPER CUTE SOCKS (which I purchased both pairs in the end haha!), a t-shirt design that is coming soon, and special cookies only available at the booth! Since I came on the last day, their cookie selection only included the logo. I was hoping I could get Choppy hehe! Also, I had a chance to see the MONSTER GIRLS and take a photo with them! I was happy to see @ciel_melty again since I saw her last year at the pop-up!
On September 12th, the Kawaii Monster Party was held! It was a lot of fun!! I got to go with the 6%DOKIDOKI team! In total there were 9 of us together hehe!
They played Fashion Monster by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu at one point and I started doing the dance hehe!! I was also reminded of the feeling I got from the GHOST GiRL GOODS Cafe I helped run at Anime North this year!! There were lots of different performances and also some DJs! I couldn't help but dance for most of the time haha!
Im happy that Kawaii Monster Cafe is still holding activities, pop-ups, and parties. I hope that one day, they can reopen something at some capacity, even if its not as large as the original cafe! So far, Sushidelic in NYC is the closest thing. (I have still yet to go....I want to go SO BADLY!) It would be so cool if I could bring them to an event in Toronto! Maybe that's next on the list of projects to work towards for 2025 hehe So many ideas!
